nasm certified personal trainer

about me

Hi there - I'm Amy Donohue, and I'm so glad you're here. I have been active my entire life. In high school as an athlete, I trained in the weight room under our weightlifting coach, which provided a solid foundation for lifelong fitness. I ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 2009, started a women's running club where we ran countless half marathons, dabbled in CrossFit, and coached Tabata classes for seven years to a small group of women. After going through my own midlife transformation just before turning 50, I was inspired to change my career path and become a certified personal trainer to help other women in the health and wellness space.

not as separate goals, but as pillars that support a strong, capable foundation. This is about building resilience, confidence, and physical strength during a season that asks more of us than ever before.

here we focus on fitness, health, wealth, and mindset

While building our dream home, a place perched high with sweeping views and unforgettable sunrises, I was reminded daily of what it means to step back, breathe, and look at life from a higher vantage point. That elevated perspective—grounded in nature—became the inspiration for House of Aerie.
Ironically, during that same season, my own foundation started to slip.
For the first time in my life, my fitness took a back seat. Perimenopause arrived, the scale crept up twenty pounds, and shortly after becoming an empty nester, I found myself at a crossroads. Something had to change.

The Story Behind the Name

I didn’t overhaul my life overnight. I made small, intentional changes—one habit, one choice at a time. Over the course of a year, those changes transformed not just my body, but how I saw myself and my future.
I wasn’t the same woman anymore—and I started to love the new 2.0 version more than anything I could imagine.

The Turning Point

I started House of Aerie to help other women find their new 2.0 version.
This season of life—perimenopause, midlife, reinvention—is often framed as something to endure. I don't accept that. I believe it can be the most powerful chapter yet where we find our glow up.
My mission is to help women tap into their strength, reclaim their health, and rise into the next version of themselves—with clarity, confidence, and an unshakable foundation.

Welcome to House of Aerie.
Build your fortress.
Take the higher view.
